BPC joins GAPS-led statement to Foreign Secretary, urgently asking for clarity on discussion of the term genocide in relation to Palestine and Gaza

Following the Foreign Secretary David Lammy MP’s response to a parliamentary question on 28th October 2024, GAPS and 37 concerned organisations, including the British Palestinian Committee, were deeply troubled by these comments. This letter gathered organisations to call on the Foreign Secretary to reaffirm the Government’s commitment to respecting the ICJ’s orders and its obligations under the Genocide Convention and the Rome Statute by elaborating on the positive measures it is taking to prevent genocide.
